Vijaya Ekadashi (2024 in Hindi) is a significant day in the Hindu religion. Vijaya Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in Phalgun month (Phalguna Krishna Ekadashi 2024), according to the Hindu calendar. This year, the fast of Vijaya Ekadashi will be observed on March 6, 2024.

According to Hindu mythology, fasting on Vijaya Ekadashi is thought to erase past misdeeds and bring success, triumph, and release (moksha). It is also believed to be the day Lord Vishnu, Hinduism's preserver and protector, defeated the demon Murasura, signifying good triumphing over evil.

Vijaya Ekadashi occurs during Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun. According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in Phalgun month will start at 6:31 a.m. on March 6 and last until 4:14 a.m. on March 7. The Ekadashi fast will be held on March 6th.
Vijaya Ekadashi 2024 Date (Tithi) begins on March 6 at 6:31 a.m. and ends the following day at 4:14 a.m. However, due to the Udaya period, Ekadashi Tithi will last throughout the day on March 6th. Therefore, the fast of Vijaya Ekadashi will be observed on March 6th.

Devotees wake up early, bathe, and pray to Lord Vishnu. They fast strictly and devote the day to meditation, scripture reading, and charity activities. Temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu are decked, and special prayers and rituals are observed. The fast is broken the following day, on Dwadashi, after offering prayers and food to Brahmins or priests.

Vijaya Ekadashi is a day of spiritual significance and devotion when devotees seek Lord Vishnu's blessings for success, prosperity, and salvation.

Vijaya Ekadashi, also known as Vijay Ekadashi or Victory Ekadashi, is a major Hindu holiday observed with tremendous dedication and passion. This fortunate day falls on the eleventh day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Phalgun, which corresponds to February or March in the Gregorian calendar. In 2024, Vijaya Ekadashi falls on Thursday, February 29th.

The term "Vijaya" means "victory," and this Ekadashi is thought to bring victory and success in all pursuits. It is a day dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and fasting on this day is thought to help believers overcome challenges and achieve success in their life.

According to Hindu mythology, the significance of Vijaya Ekadashi stems from the account of a king named Mandhata. King Mandhata was a just and virtuous ruler who always safeguarded his subjects and followed the path of Dharma. However, due to various circumstances, he suffered a series of defeats in conflicts against his foes. Distressed by his defeats, King Mandhata sought sages' advice and discovered that observing Vijaya Ekadashi with dedication could help him win.
Following the sage's counsel, King Mandhata observed Vijaya Ekadashi with great devotion and fasting. Lord Vishnu, pleased with his dedication, stood before him and bestowed the boon of victory. Armed with supernatural blessings, King Mandhata defeated his adversaries and restored peace and prosperity to his kingdom.

The significance of Vijaya Ekadashi goes beyond military victory and includes victory over one's inner demons and undesirable characteristics. It is thought that fasting on this day helps to purify the mind and body while also strengthening one's resolve to overcome challenges and achieve success in life.
