Rambus Appoints Sumeet Gagneja as New CFO to Drive Long-Term Growth

Rambus has announced a major Rambus CFO appointment with the hiring of Sumeet Gagneja as senior vice president and chief financial officer. His appointment became effective on April 29, 2026, as the company strengthens its leadership team to support long-term profitable growth. 

Gagneja joins Rambus with more than two decades of experience in financial and operational leadership across the semiconductor, data center, and AI-driven computing sectors. In his new role, he will lead Rambus’ global finance organization, overseeing financial strategy, capital allocation, and investor engagement. He will report directly to Luc Seraphin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rambus. 

Before joining Rambus, Gagneja served as divisional CFO for AMD’s Data Center segment. He also held CFO and senior finance leadership positions at Western Digital, Xilinx, Innovium, Maxim Integrated, Avago Technologies, and Intel. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, operational planning, and investor relations. 

Luc Seraphin praised the appointment, stating that Gagneja brings deep industry knowledge and a proven record of helping companies scale with disciplined execution and value creation. According to Seraphin, Gagneja’s leadership will be valuable as Rambus continues expanding its growth strategy. 

Gagneja expressed enthusiasm about joining the company, highlighting Rambus’ strong foundation, differentiated portfolio, and clear opportunity to create durable value for shareholders. He also said he looks forward to supporting the leadership team and driving continued progress. 

This executive appointment follows Rambus’ earlier announcement regarding the departure of former CFO Desmond Lynch, with interim leadership handled by John Allen until a permanent successor was named. 

With Gagneja now in place, Rambus is expected to further strengthen its financial strategy and market position in the semiconductor and AI infrastructure space.
