Quadient Hits 800,000 Registered Entities as France's E-Invoicing Reform Goes Live

France's national e-invoicing reform has officially entered its operational phase, and Quadient is marking the milestone with a significant registration number: over 800,000 entities are now listed in the French Tax Authority's central directory through its approved platform, Serensia by Quadient, along with its partners. Company leadership pointed to the figure as evidence that the platform is well-positioned to handle the rising volume of transactions expected as the mandate progresses.

This initial rollout phase is just the beginning. The reform's next stage arrives in September 2027, when the mandate extends to small and medium-sized businesses across the country.

Quadient's CEO, Geoffrey Godet, described September 1 as an important milestone for French businesses, noting that e-invoicing has now entered its operational phase and that the reform represents far more than a compliance requirement for the company. He added that it pushes forward the broader digitalization of financial processes, giving businesses a path to automate operations, improve reliability, and gain better visibility into financial flows.

Momentum From a Successful Pilot Program

The operational launch builds on a pilot program that involved major energy providers and has shown accelerating momentum. By the end of August, more than 100,000 e-invoices had already moved through the platform, with over 25,000 businesses — including TotalEnergies and Dalkia — actively exchanging live e-invoices.

Security remains a central focus as B2B invoicing shifts to certified platforms. Serensia by Quadient holds ISO 27001 certification and runs on SecNumCloud-qualified infrastructure from ANSSI, giving corporate clients strong protection for sensitive financial data.

Stéphanie Auchabie, Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations Europe at Quadient, said the pilot allowed the company to move progressively from preparation to real-world use of the platform, and that the recent acceleration confirms both growing business engagement and Quadient's readiness to support the reform's ramp-up.

Beyond compliance, the platform converts invoice data into structured information that can be integrated directly into a company's financial systems — a step toward broader financial transformation rather than a simple regulatory checkbox.

A Continent-Wide Shift

France isn't alone in this transition. Belgium will require B2B e-invoicing starting in January 2026, Germany begins phased implementation in 2027, and Ireland and the UK are eyeing rollouts in 2028 and 2029, respectively. Quadient continues to support clients across these markets through its Quadient AR and Quadient AP solutions, with plans to help businesses navigate both national mandates and the EU's broader ViDA framework, set to take effect by July 2030.
