Process of IGNOU Synopsis Evaluation
To proceed with your project plan, acceptance of your synopsis is required. After the approval of the synopsis will the project work can be completed. The synopsis must be original piece of work by the students. The procedure involved in the final approval and evaluation of the synopsis will be explained in the following paragraphs:
1. The student chooses the topic. student
The student can choose any subject of their choice and should be in the area of expertise. The title must be clear providing the most important information regarding the thesis. It should be able to convey the topic being addressed within the thesis.

2. Selection of Guide
If you're certain about the area in which work will be taken up, you should contact someone who has expertise in the field and would be interested in providing guidance in the direction of your project, if you meet the eligibility requirements.
The eligibility criteria to guide guides are:
Faculty in the Same School at Headquarters.
All Academic Counselors who have been approved by the College and having prior experience in The Study Centres are designated as supervisors to guide the projects.
Faculty with 5 years of teaching experience in PG. Professionals with a Masters degrees or other related disciplines with a minimum of five years of experience in the area of study (for instance when you take on a topic related to marketing, then the supervisor must have 5 years of experience in the field of marketing following her or his Masters). If you decide to create your own guide and include bio-data, the suggested guide must be submitted along with a an outline for approval.
The guide for the project will receive a token honourarium amounting to Rs. 500per month by the University to guide the student. At any point in time, a guide cannot be allowed to lead over five learners.
NOTE: Students are advised to choose guides who are professionals in the area of the chosen topic. i.e. If the subject is in the Financial sector, the guide must be an expert in Finance, and so on. Project Guides are also asked to limit their guidance to projects within their area of expertise.
3. Preparation of Synopsis
After deciding on the guide and deciding on the subject, it is time to write the Project Proposal (Synopsis) should be developed in conjunction using the reference. The proposal for the proposed project should include the following elements:
(i) Introduction: a brief background on the subject selected to research.
(ii) Argumentation: the reason why a specific topic was chosen for the work of the project.
(iii) Goals It is by far the most crucial aspect of any study. It must clearly and specifically what you expect to achieve at the conclusion of the research. They can be stated clearly in terms of behavior.
Objectives must be stated in a neutral way, without implicit assumptions about the results of the research.

(iv) Research Methodology:
Research Design
The nature and the source of data/information to be gathered.
Method of sampling and sample. The rationale behind the chosen organization as well as the specimen.
Techniques and Tools to be employed for data collection The details of the questionnaires or tools to be utilized and their connection to the goals for the undertaking.
Methods or methods to be employed for data collection.
Data handling and analysis - organization and analysis of data. Tools for statistical analysis to be used to analyze. The relevance of statistical tools to the goals for the undertaking.
(v) The limitation of the project proposed, in the event of any.
4. Submission of Synopsis
It should include the following elements:
Proper "Proforma for Approval of Synopsis"duly signed by the student, along with the guide with the dates.
bio-data from the Guide Bio-data of the Guide A complete biodata of the guide that has been signed in the original form, by the guide, along with the date. In the case of approved counselors, it is not necessary.
Instructions on filling out the Proforma for approval of synopsis
Enrolment Number: Include the number of enrolment that was assigned to you by the university. If the maximum timeframe of the program (i.e four years) has expired, you must to apply for a Re-admission prior to sending your synopsis. If ignou mapc internship requirements was approved on the previous Enrolment Number, the same must be sought the new Enrolment Number If you do not complete the process, your Project Report may not be accepted.
Subject Topic: The broad subject topic on which you plan to complete your work must be specified (example for example: If you're conducting your project on the Financial Performance of XYZ Ltd', then the subject area would be Finance). Based on the subject chosen subjects could include HRM and OB/Accounting & Finance /Operations Management & Information System/ Marketing/ Corporate Management/ Any Other (you can specify the subject area based on the subject you have chosen).
The title for the Project: this is the last topic in which you'll be working in the Project Work. The title should be brief and clearly describing clearly what work is being subject to study. It should be concise and clearly state the work being studied. Final Project Report should necessarily be in the format that has been approved by the evaluator. No modifications can be made when making your Final Project Report.
Name and address of Supervisor Name and Address of Supervisor, and preferably the address of his/her official office should be clearly stated in the Proforma. In the event that a supervisor has been appointed as an Academic Counsellor, they should provide the address of the study center and the classes for which counselling is offered to the students.
5. Evaluation of Synopsis
The student can submit their synopsis at any time throughout the year. However, it is recommended that the Project Proposal may be submitted to the Regional Centre after the Registration of the course they are taking. This will ensure that students have at least 8-9 months to finish their work on their project and submit it prior to the end of their course.
If Project Proposals are received by the Regional Centre after 6 months after having enrolled for the project The RC is not responsible for the prompt disposal of the proposals. If they fail to submit their synopsis within the time frame specified are likely to be late for the submission of the Project Report.
When the Project Proposal received in the regional center is found to be correct with all the information, and has all the required documents, it is accepted. After acceptance, a Project Proposal number is assigned to the synopsis. This number is unique to each learner. The Project Proposal (PP.No) number is used to facilitate further communication to the RC.
6.Feedback / Communication to the Learner
After the synopsis has been evaluated by the Expert A written communication regarding the status of Approval or non-approval of the proposal will be emailed to the student within two or three months from the date of receipt of the proposal at the Regional Centre.
If the guide proposed is not endorsed by the Faculty and the student is informed of this in these cases the student must amend his or her guide, and then submit the proposal again by signing the guide's new version. The guide will be regarded as an entirely new proposal.
If a student would like to alter their guideline for any reason the student will be required to file a new proposal and an official signature on the updated guideline on a new proposal form, since it is considered to be an entirely new proposal.
7.Resubmission of Project Proposal
If the proposal is not approved, the proposal, suggestions or comments to reformulate the proposal will be made available directly to the students. In this case the revised proposal must be submitted with a new 'Project Proposal Proforma along with a copy of the proposal that was rejected and a copy of the project proposal proforma with the comments of the evaluator as well as Project Proposal Number (PP. No.) assigned to the regional Centre
IGNOU Project Report Submission Process

Following a written confirmation of the approval of the synopsis has been received, the Project work can begin.
1. Preparation of Project Report
After you've completed the research as described in the synopsis that you have approved, an account of the work completed must be written. The report's length could be between 50 and 60 double spaced typed pages, not exceeding 18,000 words (excluding appendices and other exhibits). But, a rational deviation in either direction is acceptable.
2. IGNOU Project Format
(i) Introduction: A brief introduction to the Project and Review of Literature together with a brief description of the organization/s being studied. It could include details on the rationale, statement of problem and objectives of the Project and the scope of the study, etc.
(ii) research methodology: The document should provide specifics about Rationale the problem, the statement and objectives of the Project and the scope of the study, etc. It should also include details about the Research Design, Nature and Source of the data or information collected, Sample and Sampling method along with a rationale.
Information about the tools:
The Questionnaire and other methods employed and their intended use
Validity and reliability of the tools employed
Data collection, statistical tools employed for Data Analysis
(iii) Conclusion and Results:This will present the results in a tabular or graphic format. The interpretation of the results and findings can be elaborately explained.
(iv) Summary and Conclusion
(v) Recommendations
(vi) The limitations of this Project and directions to conduct future investigation (optional)
(vii) Reference/Bibliography
(viii) Annexures/Appendices (Questionnaire used etc. )
Final Project Report Final Project Report must have the following features:
Cover Page - must contain the name and enrollment number. of the student and the name of the guide as well as the Title of the project.
A detailed Table of Contents, with Page Numbers.
The pages of the Project Report must be numbered according to the Table of Contents.
Affirmed Proposal (i.e., Project Proposal with a proforma that has been approved and bio-data from the document) properly tied to the project and not stapled. Note that a project that has a stapled Proposal will not be considered.
Certificate of Originality- signed by the student along with the guide with the dates.
3.Submission of Project Report
A typed copy of the Project Report is to be delivered at the office of the Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110 068. When you have submitted your Project Report, a PR. No. will be assigned. Students should mention the PR.No. when contacting the Registrar (SED) in relation to Project Report thereafter.
Project Report can be submitted anytime throughout the year.
NOTE: If a Project Report is filed between 1st December and 31st May, the report will be announced along with the June Term-end Examinations. If the Project Report is submitted between 1st June and 30th November, then the report will be announced together with the December Term-end Examinations.
4.Viva-Voce
Students may be required to attend an Viva-Voce If the examiner suggests. If this happens, the students will be informed about the decision.
5. Plagiarism in Project Reports
It is essential that the Project Report submitted by the student must not contain plagiarism as well as his or her original work. If the report is found to be plagiarized the action will be taken according to the guidelines of the university.
