He noted that steady state aid will decide whether the nation can succeed at the Los Angeles Olympic 2028 competition. Financial safety allows top contenders to practice without interruption during vital international selection phases.

Tolentino stressed that the government must not decrease its help or cut support short during this key stage. Continuous cash support is vital if the country truly wants to make a strong mark during the upcoming Summer Games in California. Continuous public backing guarantees high-quality training, medical care, access to modern facilities, and essential competitive contact across foreign grounds for every athlete.

Funds Should Go Straight to Athletes in Priority Olympic 2028 Sports

The Philippines grabbed a grand total of 29 medals at the recent Asian Games. Tolentino noted that most of these victories came directly from events featured in the official Olympic movement, proving the nation has real global skill. Winning against top regional rivals builds immense confidence while proving that national sports programs are moving in the right direction overall.

He clearly said that cash aid should be sent straight to athletes competing in these selected sports. Direct help assists athletes in covering travel costs, lodging requirements, nutrition needs, specialized gear upgrades, and routine entry fees for major world events.

Alex Eala Eyes LA 28 Spot but Must Play Twice in Billie Jean King Cup

Meanwhile, the national boxing lineup is scheduled to begin its hard qualification trip next year through a series of tough competitions in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of the broader drive toward the LA 28 athletic cabinet. Boxing has traditionally served as a reliable medal source for the nation, making early exercise camps key for keeping modest, sharp technical standards.

Boxing and Taekwondo Squads Begin Qualifying Push Toward Los Angeles

Likewise, the national taekwondo team is preparing for the competitive Asian Continental Qualifying Tournament. Tolentino claimed that the stellar results won in Japan must serve as a strong starting pad rather than a final stop. He believes this drive can guide local athletes toward higher podium finishes during the Summer Games events. Building momentum from recent victories helps form a winning culture that inspires younger generations to chase excellence across international sporting arenas.

He repeated that state funds given out through the sports commission must align well with this strategic plan. Routing funds to proven medal contenders remains the most effective plan for the upcoming Olympic cycle. Smooth coordination between administrative bodies lowers bureaucratic delays and ensures resources reach training camps and traveling delegations without any extra or annoying holding periods.

Yulo and Villegas Paris Success Fuels Hopes for Higher Podium Finishes

These historic accomplishments prove that local training programs can build world champions capable of defeating elite opposition.

By maintaining solid financial support and smart training plans, the national sports body remains confident that Philippine athletes will achieve even better success at the highly anticipated Summer Olympic Games in California.
