ODM LED Linear Light Manufacturer: Specifying the Right Run

Long linear lighting runs expose problems that a single bright sample can hide: dark joints, glare and mismatched dimming. Discuss the whole wiring layout with an ODM LED linear light manufacturer.

Begin with the ceiling drawing

Start from the reflected ceiling plan and decide the exact luminaire lengths. An illuminated run may need different module lengths at the corners to keep the visible joint pattern even.

ODM LED Linear Light Manufacturer: Specifying the Right Run

Specify target illuminance, glare control and beam distribution for the occupied space. Colour tolerance matters when several nominally identical white modules are seen side by side. Choose suspended, recessed or surface mounting before the extrusion is approved. Check CCT, CRI and colour consistency across a long continuous run. Ask to see diffuser performance at normal working angles, not just a close photograph of the extrusion.

Drivers, joints and future access

Confirm how corners, feed points and end caps will be assembled on site. Match driver dimming protocol to the building-control system. Driver replacement needs space and access after the ceiling has been finished. Review access for driver replacement when the fixture is above a finished ceiling.

Test the diffuser for visible dots and colour shift at normal viewing angles. Dimming protocols must match the control system; identical-looking fixtures can behave differently under low-level control. Arrange a working mock-up in the actual ceiling height before volume production. Check packing method to protect long aluminium housings from bending in transit. Protect long aluminium housings against bending and denting on pallets before approving overseas packing.

Request drawings and approved samples that fix the production configuration. In this case it is the suitability of the LED linear system and its driver under a full-length sample at the planned mounting height, supported by approved photometric files and a wiring layout rather than an attractive photograph.
