Watch the video to discover how our learning framework supports every step from birth to five. We are committed childcare narre warren to providing a comprehensive service with affordable, high quality, developmental and educational care to our community for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. We offer both 3 year old and 4 year old funded kindergarten programs along with a prep transition program with Strathaird Primary School which is located directly across the road from our Centre. For children with additional needs or those learning English as an additional language, we provide tailored support to help them thrive.Their job is to follow each child’s lead, build on their curiosity, and stretch their thinking in ways that are challenging but never overwhelming — creating the conditions for authentic, joyful, and lasting learning. Families can receive Child Care Subsidy for up to 42 allowable absence days per child, per financial year (1 July to 30 June). These days can be used for many everyday situations, including illness, family holidays and public holidays. In most cases, you don't need to provide documentation for these first 42 absences. Additional absences may also be covered in certain circumstances, such as when supported by a medical certificate or other approved evidence under Services Australia guidelines.
We offer a rotating seasonal menu, providing breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack freshly made daily. We also have healthy recipes available in the foyer for families to take home. Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood. At our childcare centre, we instil a lifelong respect for food through nutrition and sustainability. By using fresh produce from our own gardens, we provide a hands-on “garden-to-table” experience that connects every child with nature.
We provide fresh, nutritious and creative meals that expose children to the broadest range of flavours, textures, ingredients and cultures. We recognise that children living in the inner-suburbs, like Narre Warren South may not have the opportunity to spend a lot of time outdoors. Research demonstrates this leads to the early onset of mental health problems in children as young as 3, including anxiety.
Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. In our nursery environment, educators focus on building strong, secure and respectful relationships so babies feel safe, settled and supported as they explore the world around them. I have more than 10 years’ experience working with all age groups and have been involved in all aspects of child development. I believe in providing a warm, welcoming and secure environment for children to learn and develop as well as providing a comfortable and relaxed environment for families to feel welcome. This ensures both families and children have a sense of belonging and provide input into the Centre and Program.
Our menus also offer a wide selection of fresh fruit and raw vegetables with morning and afternoon tea, as well as steamed, fresh vegetables at lunchtime. The Rosella room is our pre-school room for children who will be preparing to go to school the following year. The Kingfisher room is our wonderful 3-4 year old kindergarten program and has access to both an indoor and outdoor yard. We offer pram, scooter, bike and trike parking for the day so you can walk to the centre for an easy drop off. At Astra Early Learning we have four beautiful, light filled classrooms and a sleep room for our youngest children to rest throughout the day.
