Naphtha Price Trend Q2 2026 | Global Price Trends, Forecast, Chart, Prices and Index
Author : Nitin kumar | Published On : 06 Nov 2026
The Naphtha Price Trend in Q2 2026 experienced significant changes due to Middle Eastern supply disruptions, shipping difficulties, crude oil movements, and changing petrochemical demand.
During April and May, prices increased as buyers faced difficulties securing regular supplies and started looking for alternative cargoes. This created strong competition in international markets and increased transportation and replacement costs.
However, June brought a noticeable correction as shipping conditions improved and Middle Eastern exports gradually recovered. These developments influenced global Naphtha Prices, the Naphtha Price Chart, and the overall Naphtha Price Index across major markets.
Global Naphtha Market Overview in Q2 2026
The global naphtha market experienced strong upward pressure during the early part of Q2 2026. Uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz affected the movement of Middle Eastern cargoes, creating concerns among buyers that depend on Gulf-origin supplies. Asian and European consumers started searching for alternative sources, increasing competition for available material.
Higher transportation expenses and replacement costs also affected purchasing decisions. Buyers focused on securing sufficient feedstock to maintain their manufacturing operations. However, the market gradually changed during June as shipping conditions stabilized and export availability improved.
Another important factor was weaker demand from the petrochemical industry. Naphtha is widely used as a feedstock in steam crackers to produce ethylene, propylene, and other chemicals. When petrochemical margins become weaker, manufacturers often reduce purchasing activity and control inventories.
This limited demand during June and contributed to the decline in international prices.
Regional Naphtha Price Trend Analysis
Asia-Pacific Markets
Asian markets recorded some of the strongest price movements during Q2 2026 because of their dependence on imported feedstock. Japan experienced the highest quarterly increase, with Light Paraffinic Naphtha CIF Tokyo prices rising approximately 59%. South Korea recorded an increase of around 41%, while India saw prices increase by approximately 43%.
Singapore also experienced an approximately 30% quarterly increase as buyers competed for alternative cargoes. However, June brought significant corrections. Singapore prices declined by 30.15%, Japan by 28.44%, South Korea by 28.57%, and India by 25.05%.
These declines reflected better import availability, lower logistical risks, and reduced emergency procurement. Weaker petrochemical demand also influenced buying decisions across the region.
European Markets
European markets experienced higher prices during the early part of the quarter as international buyers competed for alternative supplies. The Netherlands recorded an approximately 33% increase in Light Paraffinic Naphtha FOB Rotterdam prices, while Germany and France experienced increases of around 32% and 33%, respectively. Belgium recorded an approximately 30% increase.
However, prices declined considerably during June. The Netherlands recorded a monthly fall of 22.41%, Germany declined by 21.30%, Belgium by 21.66%, and France by 20.13%.
Improving regional availability, recovering Middle Eastern exports, and weaker downstream consumption contributed to the correction. European buyers also reduced their dependence on expensive replacement cargoes as international shipping conditions improved.
North and South American Markets
The Americas experienced upward price movements during Q2 2026, although their direct exposure to Middle Eastern supply disruptions was comparatively lower.
In the USA, Light Paraffinic Naphtha FOB Houston prices increased by approximately 34% during the quarter. Mexico and Brazil recorded increases of around 32% each, while Canada experienced an approximately 28% rise.
During June, prices declined by 17.27% in the USA, 16.12% in Mexico, 15.42% in Brazil, and 14.71% in Canada. Better international supply expectations and lower replacement costs contributed to these declines.
Middle Eastern Markets
The UAE and Saudi Arabia recorded approximately 28% quarterly increases in Light Paraffinic Naphtha prices. Supply uncertainty and shipping difficulties initially supported prices across the region.
However, June brought sharp corrections, with the UAE recording a decline of approximately 28.75% and Saudi Arabia experiencing a fall of around 28.91%. Improved shipping conditions and regional export availability reduced supply concerns and weakened procurement pressure.
Naphtha Price Chart and Price Index Analysis
The Naphtha Price Chart for Q2 2026 highlights two different market phases. April and May were influenced by supply uncertainty, higher transportation expenses, and strong competition for alternative cargoes. June showed a clear downward movement as supply conditions improved and buyers became more cautious.
The Naphtha Price Index provides a broader understanding of these regional movements. It helps manufacturers, traders, and procurement professionals compare market behaviour across different locations. The quarterly data also indicates that markets with higher dependence on Middle Eastern supplies experienced stronger price increases, while North American markets benefited from greater sourcing flexibility.
Naphtha Price Forecast and Market Outlook
The future Naphtha Price Forecast will depend on international shipping conditions, crude oil movements, refinery operations, and petrochemical demand. If Middle Eastern exports continue recovering, supply availability may improve further, reducing the additional costs associated with emergency procurement.
However, geopolitical uncertainty remains an important risk. Any fresh disruption to major shipping routes could increase freight expenses and create renewed competition for available cargoes.
Downstream demand will also influence future Naphtha Prices. Better petrochemical margins and higher cracker operating rates could support feedstock consumption. In contrast, weaker manufacturing activity and high inventories may limit buying interest.
Overall, the market may move towards more stable conditions if supply continues normalizing. Nevertheless, crude oil volatility, transportation costs, and changes in regional demand could continue creating price fluctuations.
