Mahindra has expanded its sub-4-meter SUV lineup with the launch of the factory-fitted Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG (badged as the XUV 3XO ZNG). Starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and topping out at ₹12.27 lakh, it stands out as a strong candidate for buyers searching for the best car under 10 lakh. This model delivers bi-fuel economy without losing out on boot space or turbocharged performance.

Uncompromised Turbocharged Performance

Unlike conventional CNG vehicles that sacrifice throttle response, Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG relies on a 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi turbo-petrol engine coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Supported by a 10-bar CNG injection system, the powertrain achieves the exact same output on both fuels:

  • Power Output: 112 PS @ 5000 rpm

  • Torque: 200 Nm @ 1500–3500 rpm

  • Claimed Fuel Efficiency: 24.7 km/kg

If the CNG gas level drops too low, the vehicle automatically transitions to petrol mode to keep journeys uninterrupted.

Smart Twin-Cylinder Setup and Cabin Features

Luggage limitations are a common drawback of gas-powered SUVs, but Mahindra solves this using a twin-cylinder CNG system mounted under the rear luggage compartment floor. This setup preserves a practical 270-litre boot space, while positioning the spare wheel beneath the chassis.

Inside, the SUV offers a high level of equipment matching its petrol and diesel counterparts:

  • Infotainment & Cockpit: Twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrumentation with AdrenoX connectivity.

  • Cabin Comforts: Panoramic sunroof, leatherette seating, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a Dolby Atmos-tuned audio system.

  • Safety Equipment: 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), all-4 disc brakes, and an automated gas-leak detection system that shuts off CNG supply if a leak occurs.
