Madmaheshwar Temple and Its Significance
Madmaheshwar Temple is an ancient shrine and one of the five sacred Panch Kedar temples. According to mythology, after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva’s forgiveness. Shiva, disguised as a bull, dived into the ground at Kedarnath, and his body parts appeared at different locations. The navel (Madhya) is believed to have surfaced at Madmaheshwar, giving the temple its name.
