Olympic 2028 Tickets: Olympic Reallocation Rules and Course Standards

A national committee may reallocate a quota place. The athlete must be otherwise unqualified. Men need 2:11:00 or faster. Women need 2:29:00 or faster. The time must come within the window. This rule gives a backup trail to the Summer Games 2028. It helps a sprinter who has a breakthrough at the Trials. Yet the time must come on an eligible course. That detail is easy to miss. Read it twice.

The course must be measured by a Grade A or B measurer. The certificate must be no more than five years old. For the standard, the drop cannot exceed one meter per kilometer. The Los Angeles Olympic rules are strict here. Steeper courses can still count for rankings. Points are deducted based on the loss. That is about 42 meters in total for a marathon. Details decide careers.
