Install and Use QuickBooks Database Server Manager

QuickBooks Database Server Manager allows multiple users to access a company file stored on a server in multi-user mode. It must be installed on the computer that hosts the QuickBooks company file.

How to Install

  1. Download and open the QuickBooks Desktop installer.

  2. Choose Custom or Network Options (not Express).

  3. Select:

    • Install QuickBooks and Server Manager (if using QuickBooks on the server), or

    • Install Database Server Manager only (if server is just hosting files).

  4. Complete installation and restart the system.

How to Use

  1. Open QuickBooks Database Server Manager.

  2. Go to Scan Folders.

  3. Browse and select the folder where your company file (.QBW) is saved.

  4. Click Start Scan.

Once scanned, users on the same network can access the company file in multi-user mode.
