One of the big areas of attention in planning a bathroom remodel is space. Many homes have the usual combination as an affordable and space-saving appliance. However, a new trend is installing walk-in showers with sliding glass doors. Glass is a good choice because it is water repellent and easy to clean. Get more information.
1 - Frameless shower door
You don't have a metal frame surrounding the glass in these types of sliding doors and enclosures. The panels remain in place by clips, hinges, and caulk joints. 3/8" or 1/2" thick glass should be used to achieve the required hardness and stability. Frameless units are the most popular and, at the same time, expensive shower doors.
2 - Semi-Frameless Shower Door
These include both framed and frameless glass edges. They have less metal than a framed shower door at the same time. They can be made from 3/16" or 1/4" thick glass as some framing is present.
Semi-frameless sliding shower doors come in the middle category in terms of both price and popularity.
3 - Framed shower door
These are made of glass panels surrounded by aluminum framing. Framing allows glaziers to be made from 5/32" or 3/16" thick glass.
Framed sliding glass doors are the most budget-friendly shower doors but are less fashionable than the other two options.
Advantages of sliding shower doors
Sliding shower doors are space savers, especially in small bathrooms. Shower doors that swing into the bathroom need clear areas near the door. A sliding shower door stays on track and requires no space. In addition, the other reasons to choose a sliding door include
1 - A modern upgrade- If you don't like the shower curtain, an attractive sliding door enhances your bathroom decor.
2 – It is a more flexible option - Sliding doors work equally well with showers and bathtubs.
3 - It is easy to use - Sliding doors slide smoothly and require little effort to open and close. The rollers are easy to remove from the overhead track if you need to remove them for cleaning or some other purpose.
4 - It's kid-friendly- Because a sliding door is so easy to open and close, there is little chance that kids will leave the door open or waste precious water.
Think about how you want your shower door to function when deciding what type of door you want to install. Evaluate your options thoroughly.
