Learning Across Core Security Areas
The Ethical Hacking Foundation curriculum covers responsible disclosure, cyber laws, hacker types, testing approaches, and the phases of hacking. It then moves into network sniffing, traffic analysis, wireless security, OSINT, target profiling, vulnerability analysis, and system and network penetration.
Learners also explore web and database exploitation, client-side attacks, session hijacking, security evasion, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and defensive countermeasures. Interactive labs feature tools and environments such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Aircrack-NG, Metasploit, Burp Suite, DVWA, and OWASP Juice Shop.

The certification can benefit security officers, system auditors, security professionals, ethical hackers, network engineers and administrators, site administrators, web managers, and network security experts. GSDC states that there are no prerequisites, although programming and information security knowledge can be beneficial.
Practical Assessment and Certification
The program includes 16+ hours of learning, two practice exams, a capstone project, and an AI interview practice platform. The final project is a simulated end-to-end penetration testing engagement.
The exam contains 40 multiple-choice questions, is conducted in English, requires a 65% passing score, and provides 90 minutes. It is closed book. GSDC lists the certification validity as five years and includes a complimentary retake.
