All Changes in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0c - Hotfix 13

Below is a breakdown of every change introduced in the Hotfix. Keep in Path of Exile 2 Currency mind that some in-game descriptions may not yet reflect these updates and will be clarified in a future full patch.

1) Diminishing Returns on Stacking the Same Room Type

The most important systemic change is the introduction of diminishing returns when stacking too many rooms of the same type.

If your Temple contains four or more rooms of the same category, their modifier effects will now scale less efficiently.
Lower-tier rooms are affected first, meaning Tier I and II rooms will see reduced benefits before Tier III rooms are impacted.

This directly discourages repetitive room stacking and forces players to diversify their Temple layouts. For farmers who relied on stacking high-value rooms to maximize Path of Exile 2 Currency drops, this change significantly lowers peak efficiency while improving server stability.

2) Juatalotli's Medallion Restrictions (Partially Reverted)

Important note: This change was later reverted in Hotfix 15, but it had a major short-term impact worth understanding.

Originally, Juatalotli's Medallion allowed players to lock rooms at any tier, preventing them from destabilizing. This made it the cornerstone of advanced Temple farming strategies.

With Hotfix 13:

The Medallion was restricted to Tier III rooms only
Lower-tier rooms could no longer be preserved, making it harder to build toward optimal layouts

This change drastically reduced the ability to "force" giga-juiced Temples. While players who already had optimized layouts could maintain them longer, creating new ones became far more difficult. Although the restriction was reverted later, the temporary change signaled GGG's intent to curb extreme Temple abuse.

3) Room Bonus Swap: Golem Works and Spymaster

To further encourage variety, Hotfix 13 swapped the bonuses provided by Golem Works and Spymaster rooms.

Previously:

Golem Works boosted Generator-style rooms like Synthflesh Labs, Flesh Surgeons, Transcendent Barracks, and Alchemy Labs
Spymaster boosted military-style rooms like Garrisons, Armouries, Smithies, and Legion Barracks

After the Hotfix, these bonuses were reversed.

This change doesn't reduce overall power, but it disrupts established layouts and POE2 Currency for sale forces players to rethink optimal room synergies. Temple planners who were farming specific Path of Exile 2 Items will now need to adjust routes and upgrade priorities accordingly.
