Before an Indian family invests $800,000 in EB-5, I want them to ask one simple question: how much of the developer’s own money is in the project?

This question does not replace full due diligence. But when families compare eb5 projects, developer equity is one of the first signals I look at. Developer equity simply means the developer’s own financial commitment, or skin in the game. If the developer is asking your family to take risk, you should know how much risk the developer is also taking.
