St Luke’s offers a number of transition afternoons where the children will be involved in ‘get to know you’ sessions with the current Prep teachers or our specialist teachers. At the same time parent information sessions will be held with members of the school Leadership Team to inform parents about the running of the school and the types of curriculum offered. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life. Learning experiences are intentionally planned around each child’s interests while supporting the outcomes of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. Our Kindergarten Programs are led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers who work alongside our educators to deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences tailored to each child’s individual strengths, interests and stage of development. Our Kindergarten Programs are intentionally designed to support children’s transition to primary school by developing the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Kindergarten/preschool subsidy is subject to State Government specific requirements including child age eligibility criteria and the delivery of the funded program by an Early Childhood Teacher on the day the subsidy is claimed by the family. Calculations herein are based on the assumption all eligibility criteria is met. We often have visits from local community services in Wantirna to help familiarise the children with their local community, and we go out on adventures in our local area to teach the children about their local environment. I have been passionately dedicated to the early education sector since 2000. I am passionate about building meaningful relationships with families and playing a pivotal role in children’s lives. With an Advanced Diploma in Community Services and a wealth of experience gained from exceptional mentors in the field, I bring a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation.

The Victorian Government provides Free Kinder funding for eligible 3 and 4-year-old children attending a funded kindergarten program. This funding has been applied by KU to enable children to attend this kindergarten at no cost to families. Kinder Haven Wantirna offers long day care and a kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Wantirna, Glen Waverley, Wheelers Hill, Knoxfield, Heathmont and Boronia. Regular activities such as – yoga, self-reflection, meditation, music, creative arts and the Oppia “I Can” program all help promote a stronger self-image.
