In our nursery environment, educators focus on building strong, secure and respectful relationships so babies feel safe, settled and supported as they explore the world around them. Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood. Children build confidence for school through play-based learning, routines, friendships, early literacy, numeracy and growing independence. Every staff in here put every effort into creating a community that nurtures and uncovers each child’s personality. Pakenham Community Early Learning Centre is currently maintaining a wait list for all age groups in our program from infant to school age. Immerse yourself into what a day at our service could look like for you and your family. If your child becomes unwell while at the centre, teachers will make them comfortable and ask you to pick them up. If you’re not available, they’ll childcare near pakenh call one of the other contacts listed on your enrolment form. When your child is feeling better with no symptoms for 24 hours, they’re welcome to return.

One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children. In 2016, Little Beacons introduced a pre-schooler camp – involving parents – believed to be an Australian first. The Jungai program is based around Indigenous learning and includes activities such as a cultural session and nature trail walk. Shared updates and meaningful moments help families stay connected, informed, and engaged with their child’s journey every step along. Whether it’s a one-off issue or requires ongoing care, talk to your teachers if your child is on regular medication or has food allergies or intolerances.
Many of our educators have been part of the service since it opened in 2019, creating a strong sense of trust and consistency. We support each other in our shared spaces and celebrate milestones such as birthdays and service anniversaries, helping build a strong sense of belonging within our team. Each child’s Individual Learning Plan is created with their family and reviewed as they grow. It brings together their interests, strengths, developmental goals and educator observations, helping the team plan experiences that are useful and relevant. Play is vital to children’s learning, development, confidence, and wellbeing. A variety of structured and unstructured play activities builds on all areas of children’s development.
With each kindergarten offering programs unique to their community, engaging with the local community amenities such as the library, art galleries, emergency services and local businesses. Additionally there is access to additional programs which vary at each service including; physical education, dance, yoga and outdoor learning programs including, bush and outdoor kindergarten. First Early Learning Pakenham provides centre-based care for up to 105 approved spaces. All children who turn three or four by the April 30, 2026, and meet the Victorian Government criteria are entitled to 15 hours per week of free kindergarten. Kindergarten is an exciting phase for both children and families, and our goal at Pakenham Kindergarten is to ensure everyone leaves with cherished and joyful memories. Children enjoy nutritious meals throughout the day, with menus planned to support energy, growth and wellbeing. Allergies and individual dietary requirements are catered for so every child can take part in mealtimes safely. Children take part in regular music and movement programs, along with sports incursions that add energy and variety to the week.

Under the Best Start, Best Life reforms, the Victorian Government provides funding to make kindergarten free or low-cost. Every kindergarten program at Cire is led by a university-trained, Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. We are able to walk across the community in a group with our large stroller, visit the school library and have the chance to join in the group activities planned by our OSHC facility. These celebrate a child’s journey at the centre and includes photographs, artwork, summative assessments, ACEQUA developmental checklists and learning stories. We work to support families in their parenting role and share information of benefit to their child’s development.
