Dexcom has appointed Glenn Boehnlein to its Board of Directors, effective September 10, 2026. The appointment adds more than 20 years of medical technology experience and healthcare executive leadership to Dexcom’s board as the company advances its long-term growth strategy.
Glenn Boehnlein Joins Dexcom’s Board
Boehnlein joins Dexcom as an experienced healthcare executive and finance leader with a background spanning medical technology, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, and operational leadership.
Most recently, Boehnlein served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Stryker Corporation from 2016 through 2025. He later served as an advisor to Stryker’s Chief Executive Officer from 2025 to 2026.
During his tenure at Stryker, Boehnlein supported the company through significant growth, innovation, and international expansion. His experience includes financial leadership, capital allocation, strategic M&A, and operational excellence.
Dexcom President and CEO Jake Leach said the company had been looking for an independent director with deep medical technology experience and a proven record of operating at global scale.
Leach highlighted Boehnlein’s leadership at Stryker and his contribution to the company’s organic revenue growth, earnings performance, and free cash flow generation. Dexcom expects his experience to provide valuable perspective as it executes its newly announced long-range plan.
Boehnlein Brings Extensive MedTech Experience
Boehnlein spent many years in senior financial positions at Stryker before becoming the company’s CFO.
From 2011 to 2015, he served as CFO and Vice President of Stryker’s MedSurg and Neurotechnology Group. Earlier, from 2003 to 2010, he served as CFO of Stryker’s Endoscopy Division.
These positions gave Boehnlein experience across different areas of the medical technology business. His career has combined finance, operational management, business strategy, and large-scale healthcare operations.
Before joining Stryker, Boehnlein served as CFO of MyPrimeTime, a media company. He also worked as a partner at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he led the firm’s San Francisco Technology Industry Practice.
His varied professional background provides Dexcom with financial and strategic expertise that extends beyond the medical device sector.
New Board Member Adds Financial and Strategic Expertise
Boehnlein’s appointment comes as Dexcom continues to expand its role in glucose biosensing and pursue opportunities across diabetes and metabolic health.
His background in capital allocation and strategic M&A could provide additional financial and strategic insight as the company works toward its long-term objectives.
Dexcom said Boehnlein will contribute his experience as the company executes its long-range plan. His expertise also complements the board’s focus on global growth, operational performance, and innovation.
Boehnlein said he was honored to join the Dexcom Board during a period of innovation and growth. He also expressed his intention to work with the board and management team as Dexcom expands its impact across diabetes and metabolic health.
Boehnlein’s Current Board Responsibilities
In addition to joining Dexcom’s Board of Directors, Boehnlein currently serves on the boards of several organizations.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Inogen, a publicly traded medical technology company focused on respiratory health solutions. At Inogen, he serves as Chair of the Audit Committee.
Boehnlein also serves on the Board of Directors of Agilent Technologies, a publicly traded company focused on analytical and clinical laboratory technologies. In addition, he serves on the board of Sutter Health, an integrated healthcare system.
These board positions add to his experience in healthcare, medical technology, financial oversight, and corporate governance.
Dexcom Expands Its Board
With Boehnlein’s appointment, Dexcom’s Board of Directors has increased to 13 members. The company also appointed him to its Operations & Innovation Committee and Audit Committee. His initial board term will run through Dexcom’s 2027 annual meeting.
The appointment strengthens Dexcom’s board with an independent director who brings extensive experience in medical technology and corporate finance.
Boehnlein holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in professional accountancy from Mississippi State University. His combination of accounting expertise, MedTech leadership, board experience, and strategic management positions him to contribute to Dexcom’s continued development.
Supporting Dexcom’s Long-Term Growth
Dexcom has developed its business around biosensing technology designed to help people manage their health and diabetes. Founded in 1999, the company has spent more than 25 years developing glucose biosensing technologies.
Boehnlein’s addition to the board brings another experienced MedTech leader into the company’s governance structure. His background at Stryker and his current board roles provide experience that can support Dexcom’s financial oversight, strategic planning, and operational priorities.
As Dexcom moves forward with its long-range plan, the company will continue to focus on innovation and expanding its impact across diabetes and metabolic health. Boehnlein’s experience is expected to provide additional perspective as the company pursues those objectives.
