China LCD Module Supplier: Interface Decisions First

A promising LCD sample can be ruled out by its FPC bend, outer dimensions or processor interface. Share the complete enclosure drawing with an LCD module supplier in China before approval.
Fix active display area and overall outline separately so the bezel does not hide content. Active area and outside glass size are separate dimensions; a narrow bezel can hide the last row of content. Check resolution, interface type and available processor pins before selecting a module. Connector direction can determine whether the FPC folds safely inside a compact product. Budget power for backlight, logic and touch controller under peak conditions. Evaluate sunlight readability or dim-room comfort for the real product environment. Touch performance should be checked through the actual lens thickness and with the user’s gloves if relevant. Test the panel through the cover lens at the target operating temperature.
Confirm FPC bend radius, connector orientation and pin assignment early in the PCB design. Backlight current and thermal effects become significant inside a sealed housing. Specify whether the touch layer is capacitive or resistive and if gloved use matters. Ask for mechanical drawings with tolerances and a version-controlled electrical specification. ESD and EMC testing belong to the assembled device, not the isolated LCD sample. Check backlight lifetime and the availability of a stable replacement component.
Run ESD and system-level EMC checks with the complete enclosure. Agree pixel-defect and colour-uniformity criteria before comparing first production lots. Record pixel defect criteria and incoming inspection conditions before bulk ordering.
