Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has placed the state administration on high alert following a fresh cyclone threat over the Bay of Bengal. Giving priority to public safety and disaster preparedness, the Chief Minister cancelled his scheduled Delhi visit and decided to remain in the state to closely monitor the situation. He also directed senior officials to take all necessary precautionary measures to protect people and minimize possible damage.
The decision comes at a time when several coastal districts are still recovering from the impact of the previous cyclone. With another weather system developing over the sea, the state government has intensified its monitoring and preparedness activities.
