Can Customers Explain You

There is a strange test I like to imagine for any business.
Not whether a customer understands the website. Not whether they remember the logo. Not even whether they liked the advertisement.
Can they explain the business to someone else?
That question has become more interesting as people discover brands through social media, search, creators, recommendations, and AI-assisted research. Consumers are increasingly comparing information across different places before making decisions.
When I look at this through the lens of the best digital marketer in Calicut, I think a lot about how easily a business can be described.
Imagine someone asks your customer, “What does that company actually do?”
If the answer takes five minutes, your marketing may have a clarity problem.
The customer might know that they liked your Instagram posts. They might remember your office. They might even remember the name.
But if they cannot explain what makes the business useful, something is missing.
This matters because customers often become unofficial marketers.
They mention businesses in WhatsApp conversations.
They send links to friends.
They recommend places in group chats.
They answer questions when someone asks, “Do you know anyone who does this?”
None of those moments look like traditional advertising.
But they can influence discovery.
And the easiest businesses to recommend are usually the easiest businesses to describe.
Think about the difference between these two recommendations.
“Try this place. They do a lot of things.”
And:
“Go there if you need a wedding photographer who works with small outdoor ceremonies.”
The second one gives the listener something to remember.
It gives them a reason to investigate.
This is where I think many businesses make their communication harder than necessary. They try to explain everything because they are afraid of leaving something out.
So the website becomes crowded.
The social media bio becomes vague.
The advertisements start listing every service.
