The total government fee for an FSSAI certificate is calculated by multiplying the annual fee by the number of years of validity chosen by the FBO (1 to 5 years).

For State/Central License (Form B) – More comprehensive documentation is required:
- Blueprint/Layout Plan: For manufacturing/processing units, showing dimensions and area allocation.
- List of Equipment: Name, number, installed capacity, and horsepower of machinery used.
- Constitution of Business: Partnership Deed, Certificate of Incorporation (MOA/AOA), or Proprietorship Self-Declaration.
- Water Analysis Report: From an NABL-accredited lab (mandatory for manufacturing units).
- Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Plan/Certificate.

Criticality of FSSAI Renewal

The FSSAI license renewal is perhaps the most overlooked compliance step. Your FSSAI certificate expires after the chosen validity period (1-5 years).

Timeline: Renewal application must be filed via FoSCoS at least 30 days prior to the expiry date.
Late Fee: If filed after the 30-day window but before expiry, a late fee of ₹100 per day applies.
Consequence of Failure: Non-renewal before the expiry date leads to the expiration of the license, forcing the FBO to cease operations and apply for a fresh food licence.
