BIO-VIM® Bioabsorbable Ligament Anchor is engineered to provide secure and efficient fixation for tendon, ligament, and soft tissue repairs. Suitable for both arthroscopic and open procedures, it combines mechanical strength with biological integration to enhance surgical outcomes.

Manufactured using a blend of Poly (L-lactide co-D, L-lactide) and ß-tricalcium phosphate (ß-TCP), BIO-VIM® delivers a balance of durability and bioabsorption. The material composition—70% RESOMER® LR 706 S and 30% ß-TCP—ensures controlled degradation while encouraging osteoconduction, allowing bone tissue to gradually replace the implant over time.

The anchor is available in 4.5mm and 5.5mm sizes, offering flexibility for different anatomical and procedural needs. Its fully threaded body features a dual-thread mechanism that improves grip in both dense cortical and softer cancellous bone, enhancing initial fixation and long-term stability. A protective saddle tip design helps preserve suture integrity during insertion and tensioning.

BIO-VIM® also incorporates a cannulated core, which can assist in guiding biological agents such as growth factors to the repair site. This feature supports the healing environment and may contribute to improved tissue integration.

To accommodate diverse surgical techniques, BIO-VIM® is offered with multiple suture configurations, including BIOFIBER® sutures and 1.4mm fiber tape. The inclusion of fiber tape enhances surface contact and load distribution, which can improve fixation performance in demanding repairs.

Additional options such as needle and non-needle configurations provide surgeons with procedural flexibility. Overall, BIO-VIM® stands out as a comprehensive fixation solution that aligns mechanical performance with biological healing, making it a dependable choice in orthopedic soft tissue repair.
