How To Plan Professional Development For Teachers - What is a career growth plan?

The Professional Development Plan (PDP) is based on a process of thinking about your own learning, achievements, and achievements to help you plan your personal, educational and professional development.

PDP will help you make the most of your time at UPR-Cayey and combine the benefits of academic experience with your professional interests. Just think about your own experience. How did this happen as UPR doctors and what skills did you use for this success? what are my skills

You can identify your skills by evaluating your future: set clear goals, work hard to achieve them, identify your strengths and achievements, and evaluate the stages of the PDP process to achieve your goals.

PDP is not just about acquiring and expanding academic skills, but about facilitating the comprehensive development of your skills and experience. The PDP will help you identify and formulate the different skills and experiences you have acquired so that you can gain them as needed, as well as identify the areas of Professional Development for K-12 Educators you want to focus on.

How can PDP help me? You can use the PDP process in several ways:

It can give you a better idea of ??your career goals and create a short and long way to get there. It gives you more control over your future so you can determine the goals you want to achieve as a UPR-Cayey faculty member.

It can give you a sense of direction, purpose, and success. You will feel more motivated than motivated and as a result, you will more easily achieve your academic goals. Communicate with your department director, colleagues, or teacher about your expectations and plans. This will help you strategically ask for support and communicate more effectively why you need resources, time, or money to achieve your goals.

What is PDP?

PDP allows you to map your work experience and your personal life, research, and creative processes. If you are starting your career at UPR-Cayey, it is a good time to record, review and record your current skills and experience so that you know where to start and think about the future and the plan.

Where am I now It is useful to review their performance, record them and evaluate them in terms of the transferable skills they have gained. Write down any achievements, including the skills you have developed, and identify any gaps in your skills and experience.

what are your goals It is advisable to draw up a detailed plan for how you will achieve your goals?

What support do I need?

  • Decide what kind of support or resources you need to help you along the way in the short, medium, or long term.

  • what did I achieve? Reflect on your progress and regularly record your performance, even the smallest.

  • What should I do? After you do something, it's good to turn around and think about how you did it, what you did, and what you can do better next time. As you may have noticed, PDP is not something you do once and put aside; it is a constant cycle of personal reflection and development.

How can I use my PDP with UPR-Cayey?

PDP is a requirement to seek support in specialized educational and research programs managed by the Interdisciplinary Research Institute (III). (For example, start-up fund programs, NIH-IPERT, or BRAD programs). See attached documents.

The PDP will be used to:

  • Formalize your membership in one of these training programs.

  • Reason demands support from all programs.

  • Support you in achieving your professional goals.

  • As a basis for the preparation and reporting of the results of support provided by these special programs.

  • Important: PDP is not required to perform personnel tasks such as appointment or renewal, promotion, or ongoing evaluation. It should also not be construed or used as a substitute for UPR-Cayey certified teacher assessment tools.
