The transmission efficiency of the planetary gearbox is affected by many factors, such as gear friction loss, axial load, etc. The transmission efficiency is usually between 95% and 98%.

1. Structure and working principle of planetary gearbox

Planetary gearbox is a transmission device composed of planetary gear, sun gear and internal ring gear. The sun gear serves as the input shaft, the ring gear serves as the output shaft, and the planetary gear serves as the medium. During the transmission process, the sun gear drives the planetary gear to rotate, and the planetary gear drives the internal ring gear to rotate, thereby achieving the effects of transmission and deceleration.

2. Factors affecting transmission efficiency

2.1. Gear friction loss

The gear friction loss of the planetary gearbox is one of the main factors affecting its transmission efficiency. When a small gap appears at the contact between the planetary gear, the sun gear and the internal ring gear, it will cause friction and energy loss between the gears, thus affecting the transmission efficiency.

2.2. Axial load

Axial load refers to the load applied to the planetary gearbox along the direction of the output shaft. When the axial load is large, it will cause extrusion between the planetary gear and other gears, thereby increasing friction and loss, resulting in reduced transmission efficiency.

2.3. Accuracy and quality

The accuracy and quality of the planetary gearbox also directly affect its transmission efficiency. If the machining accuracy of the parts is not high enough or the quality cannot be guaranteed, it will affect the fit and rotation of the gears, resulting in energy loss and reduction in transmission efficiency.

3. Methods to improve transmission efficiency

In order to improve the transmission efficiency of the planetary gearbox, the following methods can be adopted:

3.1. Select the appropriate working fluid

For different working environments and working conditions, different working fluids, such as liquid lubricants or dry lubricating films, can be used to reduce friction and losses.

3.2. Improve the machining accuracy of gears

Machining accuracy is one of the important factors affecting the transmission efficiency of planetary gearbox. Improving the machining accuracy and manufacturing quality of gears can reduce friction and losses and improve transmission efficiency to a certain extent.

3.3. Use axial preload device

In order to eliminate the influence of axial load, an axial preload device can be used in the planetary gearbox and adjusted and calibrated to reduce friction and loss and improve transmission efficiency.
