The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate students is also abbreviated as NEET UG. It is the premier and most comprehensive and mandatory exam for students who are aspiring to their profession in the field of medical and dental programs across India.

List of Documents Required for NEET UG Counseling Session

The Medical Counseling Committee examines the files and the documents of the candidates with a view to a new admission. Based on this, applicants are offered seats in quota medical colleges across India and the states. Therefore, the students must bring the following documents to the allotted university.

  • NEET UG Admit Card

  • NEET Result or Rank Card

  • Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI/ DCI/ State Council.

  • Birth Certificate/ Higher Secondary Certificate/ High School (as the proof of date of birth)

  • Valid ID Proof

  • SC/ ST/ OBC Certificate

  • PWD Certificate

NEET UG Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

Before jumping on the Counselling process of the NEET UG examination, it is important to understand the Eligibility criteria for NEET UG counseling. If students have cracked the NEET UG examination, they are eligible for the counseling session following the below-mentioned criteria:


  1. Age: Students must be 17 or above years of age on or before 31 December of the year of admission.

  2. Educational Qualification: Students must have passed 12th or equivalent with Science stream especially, PCM i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.

  3. Minimum Percentage: Students must have secured a total of 50% (general category) and 40% (reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

NEET UG Counselling Procedure

The NEET UG Counselling process is conducted in multiple rounds with each round comprising different stages. The NEET UG Counselling procedure consists of the below-mentioned stages: 

  1. Registration: It is the first and foremost stage of the NEET UG Counselling procedure. Students have to register themselves in online mode where they must provide their personal and academic details.

  2. Choice Filling: This is the second stage of the Counselling procedure where students are required to fill out their choices of courses and colleges according to their preferences.

  3. Document Verification: After the choice-filling process has been completed, students have to verify their documents by visiting their designated centers.

  4. Seat Allotment: Then comes the seat allotment process where seats are allotted to the students on the basis of their rankings, choice of filling, and availability of seats.

  5. Reporting to the Allotted College: When the students have been allotted their seats in their desired courses and colleges, then they have to visit their respective colleges, verify their documents, and pay their admission fees in order to confirm their admission.
